Kristin Chenoweth Broadway BootCamp Auditions

An open casting call for students currently in grades 8-11 will take place via video audition submissions for the fourth annual Kristin Chenoweth Broadway Boot Camp, held at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Again this year, Ms. Chenoweth herself along with a team of A-list Broadway professional will collaborate with the students, offering insight into the world of performing arts for aspiring entertainers.

“Ms. Chenoweth has a heart for arts in education, as cemented with the formation of the Kristin Chenoweth Arts & Education Fund,” said Mark Frie, ArtsOK Board President. “For this camp, she is creating a unique opportunity for many high school students to further their creative arts aspirations by putting a new twist to its format.”

The audition submission deadline is Friday, Feb. 16, by 5 p.m. Any student who will be in grades 9-12 in the 2018-2019 school year and is an Oklahoma resident can audition. A limited number of slots are available and the cost to attend the camp is $300.

Broadway Boot Camp will take place June 10-16, 2018, at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center. The camp will teach audition techniques, stage movement and will include one-on-one direct instruction from Broadway, film and stage industry professionals.

Two lucky students from the boot camp will be chosen to attend the Oklahoma City University High School Musical Theatre Camp in July for three weeks with all tuition waived.

Students must prepare one musical theatre piece no longer than one minute in length, as well as a one-minute dramatic monologue. A performance resume, audition application and headshot are also requested.

“I am so excited to partner with the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center and ArtsOK; The Regional Arts Alliance of Broken Arrow to help raise awareness for the arts in the city I call home,” said Chenoweth. “Giving back to the community is a privilege and I feel most fortunate to be able to support educational and artistic opportunities in Broken Arrow.”

Last year’s camp saw 45 students learning all about musical theatre while interacting with top Broadway, film and stage industry professionals including Tony Award winners Faith Prince (“Guys and Dolls”) and Baayork Lee (original cast of “A Chorus Line”), Richard J Alexander (producer and director), Lara Teeter, Michael Orland, John Tartaglia, Matt Berman, Mary Mitchell-Campbell, and the one and only Kristin Chenoweth.  The camp started with a Tony Awards show watch party and concluded with a spectacular public performance by the students and staff.

Applications for the camp are available online at and must be turned in by Feb. 16, by 5 p.m. For more information, visit the website or call Kim Vento, Director of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center at 918-259-5723.
