2026 Theme: TO BE ANNOUNCED
Over 50 artists of all ages will receive a 6’x6′ or 10’x10′ space on Main Street to create their colorful chalk masterpiece. Artists may compete as individuals or in teams, and all artwork must interpret this year’s theme, Sweet Dreams and Night Scenes. Competing artists are eligible for prizes in “Best Interpretation of Theme,” “Best Use of Color,” and “Best Composition,” plus People’s Choice and Best in Show. Ten prize winners will each receive a $100 cash award.
Registration is $40 per square and includes chalk, one event t-shirt, water, and lunch on Saturday. A color sketch or reference image must be submitted for approval prior to the event. Artists may begin drawing Friday evening and continue Saturday, with judging starting at 2:00 pm. Full rules and details are available in the official rules PDF below.
Artists of all ages can participate, either as individuals or in teams of up to four people. Teams are welcome. If an adult participates in the drawing, the team must compete in the adult category.

Yes. A color sketch or reference image of your planned artwork must be submitted for approval. Artwork must be family-friendly and non-political.
Competing artists may begin work on Friday, September 11th from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am. The public festival closes at 8:30 pm, but registered artists may continue working in their squares after that time.
Work resumes on Saturday, September 12th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Awards will be presented at 4:00 pm.
Artwork in each age category is judged by three outside judges and awarded for Best Interpretation of Theme, Best Use of Color, and Best Composition.
The People’s Choice Award is selected by festival attendees during the event. The Best in Show award, chosen by the judges, is the top honor and the winning artwork will be featured on the following year’s festival t-shirt.
All eleven winners receive a $100 cash prize.
Yes, small tents are allowed for sun and rain protection but must be secured and approved on site. All tents must be removed by 2:00 pm on Saturday.
