Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful is hosting it’s annual Rose Festival right here in The Rose District on May 16, 2015. The Festival will be held at the Farmer’s Market and the Broken Arrow Historical Museum. This is a family-friendly event that will feature many activities including:
Hometown Rose Show-Farmer’s Market: In 1924, with a population of 2000, the Rose Show had 45 exhibitors, 108 single roses and 72 bouquets. In 2015 with a population of over 110,000, Keep Broken Arrow Beautiful plans to beat that record. “Bring a Rose” will be from 8-10 a.m. and judging will be at 10:30 a.m. Simple categories include single roses: red, yellow, etc. and small and large bouquets.
Art and Photography Contest-Sponsored by the Art Council-Historical Museum: Contest age groups are grades K-12, adult, senior 60+, and professional. Entries will be on display at the Historical Museum the entire month of May. Winners will be announced on May 16.
Children’s Activities-Art and Humanities Council: Bring the kids and enjoy many activities!
Craft booth: Featuring “rosy” items. A percentage of all sales will go to the Rose Committee.
Garden/Rose Groups: A New Leaf, Master Gardener’s, BA Rose Club, Rose Inc Green Country will share information about their gardens and clubs. A New Leaf will even have things to sell.
